Description

GHK-Cu is a copper(II) complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, a sequence found naturally in human plasma and associated with fragments of proteins such as collagen. The peptide has a high affinity for copper and acts as a copper-binding ligand, forming a defined 1:1 coordination complex through the histidine imidazole and the peptide backbone.

In cell-culture research, GHK-Cu has been studied as a modulator of extracellular-matrix and collagen-related pathways, in copper homeostasis and metallopeptide chemistry, and in dermal fibroblast and wound-healing model systems. The free peptide and the copper complex are chemically distinct species. Signal supplies GHK-Cu as a research-grade reference material, verified by HPLC and mass spectrometry.
